"Friendly and competent inpatient care at the EOC"

I've just had my 7th hip operation (I'm 26) and I can only sing praises for the staff at the SW London Elective Orthopaedic Centre.

The pre-op checks are professional but friendly and all concerns, no matter how small, are taken seriously and are addressed head on. The hospital itself is spotless, bright and airy.

On the day of the op, I was greeted with a smile and the nurses helped me and were talkative, friendly and reassuring. The anaesthetist was a fantastic man - clearly loved his job and put me at ease. The surgeon was equally as friendly - he sat next to me and explained the operation and risks before handing me the consent form. Again, any questions were dealt with head-on and with enthusiasm.

I was awake when I was taken into theatre and the staff greeted me with warm smiles and they all were attentive and friendly. I was quite ill when I woke up, but the nurse never left my side and reassured me that everything that I felt was normal. She kindly relayed messages from friends and family and I was transferred to the ward. I was with one other patient.

There were plenty of nurses - all cheerful and chatty and very competent. They had plenty of time for me and would always stop for a chat. Food was excellent, plenty of hot drinks available and I never felt I was bothering the nurses with questions or when I needed help. Everything was spotless too!

I was taken home in a hospital taxi and all of my nurses popped out to say goodbye. My prescription took a while to come through, but the information provided was thorough and printed on A4 paper so easy to read.
