"Waiting for clean sheets at Watford hospital"

About: Watford General Hospital / General surgery

(as a friend),

2 things:

1. My partner had appendicitis, confirmed by doctor, age 60...was left waiting for operation, when everyone knows it can only turn nasty: peritonitis. Waiting for 48 hours, and, of course, it DID turn.

2. they changed his antibiotics from drip to by mouth and - of course - he had diarrhoea, and when I arrived at 2pm his sheets were dirty, and I asked the first person that came. "I'll send someone" and 2 hours later, the nurse "I'll send someone" and the staff nurse "I'll send someone" and even the sister "I'll send someone" and when I left at 8pm ( 6 hours later) the sheets had not been changed!

Not an isolated incident...my neighbour, whose husband was also in the same hospital, another ward, told me she ended up changing the sheets, after hours waiting (and got told off by the sister).
