What I liked
I have just returned from staying overnight at goole hospital on ward 6 while i was having my broken leg repaired. I was almost fooled and thought i was in private care. The hospital is so clean and the nurses and staff can not do enough for you. They provide you with good painkillers and better ones if you ask for more. When i returned from my operation i had missed dinner but the nurses provided me with some hot chocolate and some toast at no bother to them at all. They where incredibly respectful of my privicy and checked on me all the time to make sure i had water which they would change every couple of hours. They also offered me hot drinks all the time along with biscuits. They provided me with was facilities and helped me with the toilet in very respectful way.
They doctors made sure i knew exactly what was going on all the time and but me at ease throughout my stay. I am quite a nervous person i would normally be petrified of an operation but because of them i was completly fine.
The consultant on the orthopaedic ward is an exeptional surgeon and knew exactly what to do with me make sure you get him to do your operation if you have to have any lower limb surgery you will not regret it.
What could be improved
absolutly nothing the place is as close to private care as you can get
Anything else?
it would be a real shame if the government reduced funding in the nhs because this hospital sets the standard all other hospitals should be at
"Should be called a private hospital it..."
