"consultants need to learn bedside and..."

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

What I liked

nothing

What could be improved

consultants should remember they are speaking to human beings and not scum on the bottom of their shoes, they should also listen to their patients instead of talking over them and saying silly comments like "it was a painless procedure" when it was not painless at all.

Anything else?

i visited the ENT department as a follow up to an operation i had had 2 weeks prior, i told the consultant i was in pain, he ignored my comment, i told him again and he said it was a painless procedure, i dont call having tissue and bone removed from my nose as painless hence the fact i was given painkillers and strong ones at that during my hospital stay.

i left hospital again without a clear idea of what i had done or what my lab results were, and felt like i was not worthy of the consultants time nor answers. infact the consultant was more concerned with asking whether his work expereince girl was ok when he removed something not very nice from my nose, when i was the one who he should have been asking.

the ENT department need to learn some people skills so patients are not left feeling like silly idiots when they leave, i felt humiliated and stupid for having asked questions i needed answered.not looking forward to another visit here
