"Medication brought into hospital"

About: Rotherham PCT

(as other),

The waste/duplication/inefficiency I want to tell you about is:

Pharmacy - not making the best use of medication patient brings into hospital.

'off label' drugs are fine but with clear safeguards on quality of 'prescriber'

I support the organisation in making sure that the voice of patients and the public is heard and used in planning services. This involves running events, managing surveys, and building networks with the local community.

This comment was posted from our Stakeholder event in June. We are asking for help in identifying waste and inefficiencies within health services, as we want to make provide the best value we can for public money.

A full report of the event has been sent to attendees and NHS Rotherham Board. Details of specific actions and issues have also been passed to commissioning staff for action.

Specific Issues Raised Above

A number of people raised issues around medication and drugs. These have been passed to our medications lead, who is looking into all the issues raised.
