About: The Ridge Medical Pract.

I have an appointment on the 10th April with Dermatology and due to a flare up in my condition my skin has become painful. I called as I was hoping to be seen sooner but neither the receptionist or doctor would do anything and told me that's the procedure. I understand procedures but if I'm in pain then it would be nice to have someone look at an alternative appointment or even an emergency appointment but I guess this is not possible

Hi

We appreciate that it can be hard while waiting for specialist care and this can be distressing at times. specialist services such as those for dermatology and nearly always very busy and have a waiting time. All these services are provided on a different basis to core GP work and even though they may be offered at the practice are run differently. We do try and add extra sessions to keep waiting lists down, and they are significantly shorter than those for dermatology at the main hospital, but all the clinics we have are fully booked, and there are only certain doctors with the specialist skill to see these patients.
