About: Tower Hamlets Home Treatment Team (A)

Been seeing the team for just under one week.

Really unsure as to the point of the service. Might be great some isolated or elderly people but other than that a total waste of time and tax payers money. (To which I pay too)

Clear decisions are not made and the only treatment you will receive is to be heavily medicated. Not good for someone who battled depression and used painkillers and over the counter medicine to help regulate mood only to become addicted.

I would warn others to be wearying as the slightest whiff or mention of self harm and you’ll be sectioned.

Sorry to hear that you feel your needs are not currently being met by the Home Treatment Team. Posts on NHS Choices are anonymous so we cannot respond to you directly or contact you to find out more, via this channel. As you say in your post, it is important that any proposed treatment takes into account your previous experience with medication, and that you are involved in decisions about your care and management. It sounds like you have lost confidence in the approach of the team. If you do not feel able to have further discussion with your doctor, please call our PALS team on FREEPHONE 0800 783 4839 who will be able to support you and liaise with the team. Regarding your point about self harm, understandably, healthcare staff have to respond when people feel suicidal or try to cope by harming themselves. They aim to minimise harm and support people to cope in less harmful ways. Please get in contact, either with the Home Treatment Team or PALS so that we can find a way forward and try and get you back on track.
