Had a bad bash to the knee and felt the bone chip, I have had a hairline fracture in the knee before so I knew this was the case. I called 111 and they told me to go to A&E within the hour. Everything was fantastic in the hospital from reception to seeing the nurse to seeing the consultant and I was ready and waiting for an X-Ray, until another consultant decided that I didn't need one? With no other explaination than 'because of radiation'? - I know for a fact that a knee x-ray is safe and low radiation. So that excuse was very poor. I wanted the x-ray for piece of mind so I knew exactly what I had done to my knee and then could use the correct treatment for it going forward. However, my requests were ignored and I had to leave with NO treatment or answers!!! I am still in agony and I am shocked that one person is allowed to refuse treatment and basically disregard patients concerns. I had bad knee trauma in the past so I was also worried about the impact this injury caused. This was ignored and I felt like I was not important or worth anything.
"Disappointing"
