I want to express my sincere thanks to the staff at ward 51 in Langlands building at Queen Elizabeth university hospital Glasgow.
When my dad was admitted due to several health problems, I really thought that he was at the end and it would be a horrible experience due to all the bad publicity that the NHS have been getting.
I could not have been more wrong!. Firstly because not only was my dad nursed back to health and able to return home but also I believe that warmth of care from all the staff who spoke to him as a person , comforted him , made him feel secure and valued, had the biggest effect on his outlook and release home.
Although I could see that the staff were run off their feet with work,( probably short on staff), not once did I feel I could not approach them. Even when the sister was so busy she took time out to explain kindly what was happening with my dad.
I wish all wards could take it as an example as to how to treat ,not only patients but families who are scared and concerned. I can only highlight this positive experience and thank the sister and staff for compassion ,kindness and care of myself and my dad. Thank you!
