"lack of competitive tenders"

About: Rotherham PCT

(as other),

The waste/duplication/inefficiency I want to tell you about is:

- Concentrate on commissioning not service delivery

- lack of competitive tenders

- lack of early intervention

- final salary pensions

- Doctor's time talking about mental health to patient

*why don't RDASH subcontract to save money

*manage sickness

* commission 'health watch'

I support the organisation in making sure that the voice of patients and the public is heard and used in planning services. This involves running events, managing surveys, and building networks with the local community.

This comment was posted from our Stakeholder event in June. We are asking for help in identifying waste and inefficiencies within health services, as we want to make provide the best value we can for public money.

A full report of the event has been sent to attendees and NHS Rotherham Board. Details of specific actions and issues have also been passed to commissioning staff for action.

Specific Issues Raised Above

You have raised many points here; some of these I am unable to answer as they relate to national agreements or issues. Others I have passed to our mental health commissioning lead for additional information.

Many thanks for these comments
