My Dad was admitted to the Countess on several occasions, terminal cancer, but not on one occasion were we told this by a Consultant, asked questions but never got a answer , he was admitted in October again for the last time, I actually had to ask to see a Consultant for some answers, only to be told, very bluntly that (in her words) Your Dad is going to die soon, days, whaat, nothing done, he was in pain so I took it upon myself to phone Macmillan nurses who were brilliant, could not understand why palliative care had not been called, within one hour he was given a more comfortable bed, on a syringe driver for the pain, but hey ho, Countess again, too late,
I have not done this sooner, took a while to get over it, we were doing shifts at the hospital with my poor Dad, cant fault the nurses on the ward, but the Consultant was disgusiting, and yes I have been advised to get onto PALS with all of the details, we went to Accident and Emergency how many times, yet again, just a stoma problem, Oh yes and cancer gone to the brain, OK, MRI scan booked, no it was not, I had to phone and do that, results going to Walton Centre for advice, never went, thankyou Countess of Chester, another parent lost because of your imcompetence, so annoyed
"Care of my Terminally Ill Dad"
