"I go abroad for prescriptions I need"

About: Lambeth PCT

(as the patient),

I never get any joy at my surgery; instead of practical support and medical advice I am told to 'manage' my condition. Not everyone has friends and family for support and it can be hard to cope with chronic or permanent conditions. One particular symptom is very distressing and I’ve raised it repeatedly since 2009 but I feel I am fobbed off with blood tests and then told everything is 'normal' without and support or advice being offered for the condition, which persists.

As a high rate tax payer, I'm sick of it - I already supplement the NHS service with private treatment. As a tax payer, I resent this. I want to move to a different surgery, but how do I know they'll be any better? I fear they are all the same.

I have taken to doing my own research on my health issues and I go abroad for prescriptions I need without even telling my GP surgery. They wouldn't give me the prescription I now get abroad - I can honestly say the medication has been a lifesaver for me. I use the GP for just the basics and then do everything else myself. If I wasn't having such a large portion of my salary syphoned off to support the NHS (which does nothing for me), I could have gone private. How ironic.
