I am a 66 year old woman who registered with Irnham Lodge in February because they were still providing a service that my previous surgery had discontinued.
On 21st February I had what I thought might be symptoms of a heart attack while walking my dogs on the hill near Minehead and decided to call into the surgery and seek their advice.
The receptionist quickly noted my symptoms and I was seen by a physician without minutes of my arrival.
He assessed me promptly, took several ECG and and blood pressure readings, gave me oxygen, aspirin and GTN (angina spray), inserted a cannula in the back of my wrist and watched over me offering comfort and reassurance while waiting for the ambulance to take me to hospital where I was taken straight to the cardiac unit and had an emergency angioplasty.
I have no doubt the prompt action of the team at Irnham Lodge saved my life.
Not only that, every contact I have had with the team has been very positive and they are all lovely people, professional and caring.
I cannot commend them highly enough.
"Prompt treatment saved my life"
