"cancelled yet AGAIN"

About: York Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

having been in a lot of pain for a number of years and putting of surgery i could not face the pain any longer so had an mri scan in June 2017 and then got a date for a pre op and then a date for my knee surgery and got to the hospital at the alloted date had the pre checks and was then discharged because the said they didn't have any beds so was discharged then got another date and returned to hospital to be checked in and the to be told they don't have any beds was then given another date and returned to the hospital again and was told i was second on the list for that day was checked in again and even got to see the surgeon and was then discharged because they don't have any beds i was then given another date only to receive a letter today saying my op had been cancelled yet again, my wife has taken three days holiday we have lost the price of a holiday we where supposed to go on last month we live near eggbrough power station so we are not close to the hospital and have incurred transport costs and hospital parking charges etc, i have paid national insurance all my adult working life. so personally this hospital trust is absolutely PATHETIC, if i was in west yorkshire i would have been sent to have it done privately.!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your comments. We are very sorry to hear that you have had a number of cancellations and we understand how this impacts our patients.

We do all we can to avoid cancelling an operation however this is not always possible.

Please contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) should you need to know about the plans for a rescheduled date for your operation.

The PALS service can be contacted on:

• Telephone: (01904) 726262
