Antenatal care at st thomas is very good and
I would definitely recommend.
Postnatal care is like whole different hospital!
Midwife's were unpleasant, not attending to patients needs, bells ringing and no one is coming . After having c section I was left alone, no one explained when I should be walking and what to do.
Midwife didn't give me My medications one day because I wasn't in my bed ( I went to see my baby in NICU) no one explained what time I should be taking my meds.she blamed me for that.
The same midwife forgot to give me discharge letter and another 2 letters which I have been given 2 weeks afterwards when I attended my postnatal apt.
Another midwife was never there it took her whole day to take ouy my painful cannula, had to ask her 3 times and it felt like I'm wasting her time.
When I was expressing my milk kitchen lady left my curtain open when she collected my tray from my lunch . Support worker was there to change the bed and didn't close it .I was after my c section and it was difficult to move.I've asked support worker to close the curtain and she said "yeah" and walked away leaving it half open so I still had to get up which was Painful.
I think it's a disgrace some people shouldn't work there if they don't care for another human being
"Postnatal unit is a disaster"
