My son was treated at A&E this morning (15th March 2018) and he was treated quickly, with great respect and full explanations were given to him at all times during his examination.
Great concern and expertise in the process were demonstrated and as his parent I felt huge confidence in the staffs abilities and the procedures that were being followed.
At every stage from booking in, to assessment, moving his onto a bed, talking him through each stage of his care, placing him in a bay with nurses, consulting, X-ray, neuro exam, discussion, CT scan, and review, was highly professional and very human, with every possible consideration taken and great confidence in the handling of my son.
I want to thank all the staff, and as it is such an enormous chain of people, I apologise if I miss any.
The staff member in Triage and the person assisting her, the consultant who came in and place my son in a neck brace and requested an x-ray, the Nurse in charge, the staff member who took us to the CT scan, the Doctor who explained everything fully and communicated on a human level as well as a professional level, the radiologist, the CT scan team, the porters, and the receptionist.
He is now home and recovering from neck injury and whiplash sustained from a rugby injury having been thoroughly checked. Thank you for helping him.
Royal Surrey is such an essential hospital and the staff are dedicated, professional, wonderful people who make all the difference.
