"Amazing staff"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Maternity

I was dreading the birth of my second child as the 1st one I felt like a nuisance and In the way and that staff couldn’t be bothered with me.however from the moment I rang the unit the lady on the phone kept me calm helped me with my breathing and was so polite, when I arrived at 7.30am was shown to a lovely big room which was so nice and assigned a midwife.I had to have the doctor come and check me over as baby had turned back to back and before I was allowed gas and air and this was carried out quickly as I was in a lot of pain.i was offered the pool which I took just to relax and it was amazing so calming and quite I ended up having a water birth which I always said I wouldn’t but now I wouldn’t have any other birth. I guided my baby out and the midwives gave me time to bond straight away in my own time which was lovely I wasn’t rushed about. Our midwife was so friendly and got along with us straight away I felt like I had known her for years she went out her way to get my babies tongue tie sorted and when I was put back on the normal ward she came down to make sure I was ok and baby Vinnie was ok and feeding properly. I felt she went out her way to help us get Vinnies referral and sensed she took it personal and wouldn’t of been happy finishing without it being sorted .Throughout the evening all the midwives were great and the feeding specialist came to see me and she was great. This birth experience was 20times better then the 1st and I don’t know why I was so scared staff were amazing and I would recommend Lincoln highly. Thank you everyone from Aimee Rikki and baby Vinnie x

Dear Aimee

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story with us.

I’m so pleased that you had such a positive birth experience and it appears from your comments that the entire team were caring and supportive.

It means a lot to receive such fantastic feedback and I can assure you that I will be sharing your kind words with all the staff.

Once again, thank you so much for taking the time, as a busy mum, to provide such positive feedback.

Kind regards

Julie Bulteel
