(as the patient),

I have a serious hands deformity and have struggled to be awarded DLA. I also suffer with type 2 diabetes and a liver complaint and find every day a task to do anything in my life. I contacted Ashley House in Widnes and my caseworker has helped me fill out forms and seek the right people to help me at the moment I must say they have been a God send. If only more people had their skills

Thank you for your posting and kind words. All the workers within Ashley House advocate on their clients behalf if required which appears to have happened with a good outcome in your particular case ,in that you have recieved the benifits for which you are entitled. Such cases as yours highlight the importance of looking at all a persons needs ,not just their substance misuse ,so as to assist them towards recovery.
