Waiting time. This was extended by 45 minutes, then up to 60 minutes.

I saw the consultant who didnt know me or my name, or my medical history. The consultant hadnt previously read my medical notes and scanned through them during the consultation. The consultant was very pleasant and helpful, listened to what I said and suggested two options. One was to do nothing with my slowly rising PSA results, one was to start intermittent hormone treatment. I understand anti androgen hormone treatment will eventually become ineffective and other treatment will be required. I understand that by putting off hormone treatment for some time, it would be effective subsequently for an indeterminate time in the future. I do not know at what level of PSA I would be recommended to start hormone treatment. Given two options, do nothing or start some treatment I decided to go for the latter. I had previously been told hormone treatment would start when my PSA reached 1. I would have been happier to have seen an old friend like the sister or previous consultant who were aware of my medical history. I dont mean old in terms of age, in terms of friendship.
