About: Bannockburn Surgery

The worst encounter I've ever been subjected to. Mother has been prescribed incorrect medication dosage for a month by Bannockburn. We moved for other reasons but our new surgery says the dosage applied by Bannockburn is ineffective.

Mum has had to tolerate fluctuating pressure readings, stress because of Bannockburn's incompetency and now she is more fluid and balanced given the correct medication dosage by new surgery. This surgery gives me cause for alarm.

Dear Sir or Madam, I'm sorry for your experience and I believe that you may have written previous feedback in relation to your mother, I'm sorry that you have felt the need to give feedback once again as it appears that we might not have given you satisfactory explanations.

Please note that all the GPs within Bannockburn Surgery use NICE guidance to manage hypertension and that your mother was asked to keep her home blood pressure values which we then assess and manage.

Should these values be outside the national set figures, we manage them with a medication protocol as per NICE guidance.

We are regulated on this point on a national level and this is in keeping with national best practice.

Should the values be below the range, we would not give unnecessary medication as this would also be potentially damaging.

I'm sorry if this was not explained in enough detail and if you feel that communication was not optimal and that your mother was not given appropriate treatment as this is really not our modus operandi at Bannockburn Surgery.

I would be more than happy to discuss this issue with you in more detail at a time of your convenience at the surgery and we wish you all the best in your new surgery.

With Best Wishes, Dr Sabrina Ong.
