"Very Disappointed"

About: Bannockburn Surgery

I had been with this surgery for almost 3 years. Though appointments i got everytime were bit late but it's totally considerable due to high number of patients. But now i would like to give a review sadly that services are going step back. I am a new mum with premature baby and didn't know many health stuff. My baby was discharged a week ago from special care and health visitor advised me to see GP as she was having problem in feeding and breathing . She is premature so they advised me not to take any risks. Luckily i had appointment booked for my followup so i called surgery if they can see both of us in one slot but they said its not possible. I then decided to cancel my one and rebooked it for my baby as she is my only priority. When i visited, GP behaviour was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I was in last slot for the day and they looked tired and in rush as this i can guess from services i received. When i started telling about my baby's history they stopped me saying that they know everything and i have to go further. Anyways when i started to explain after a while they said i have to repeat as they cant hear anything at this moment.

These are the actual words i am typing here, they then started asking me about her history if it was so why they had stopped me earlier? They checked her in hurry and said why i didn't pop in Wednesday. I told her i wasn't aware about clinical time and secondaly if she is sick after Wednesday and i dun wanna go to emergency as i think that problem can be solved with GP. So it means i have to wait untill next Wednesday because its my daughter's fault who fall sick after your clinical time. I also informed that HV insisted me to see GP but then they said i have waisted my time with HV also. So thats the professionalism we expect from our health providers? Especially for a baby who was in special care and needs more attention. Sadly i would like to review that services are now very bad but once i liked the surgery as most consaiderable staff.

Dear Madam, we are very sorry for your experience with our surgery and your comments.

Please rest assured that the comments have been discussed and your points disseminated with the wider team within the surgery.

For your information, we run a walk in baby clinic every Wednesday morning and this might be of help to you in the future.

I am sorry for your experience with the GP and with the reception staff and what sounds like some miscommunications.

We aim to treat all our patients with respect, care and dignity and we are sorry that this was not felt on your last visit.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you in for a further discussion of the issues you have raised in your feedback at a time of your convenience so we can try and rectify things.

I would like reassure you that the care of children, especially those with medical conditions is a priority for Bannockburn Surgery and we hope that you will see this better in the future.

With Best Wishes, Dr Sabrina Ong.
