"Excellent - from diagnosis to a painless..."

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

What I liked

The organisation of my care from pre assessment to discharge and rehabilitation was very well planned. The staff all knew their role and made me feel very safe.

What could be improved

To tell me when I was discharged to expect huge swelling of my leg after hip replacement - I rang the number for the ward and they explained but a little fact sheet about swelling, aches and pains would be useful and thus would save the nurse time with phone calls from discharged patients.

To have the drugs for discharge available if discharged on a Sunday. They are routine drugs that could have been availble on the ward to avoid a visit back on Monday to collect them from Canterbury. I have a mobile husband but many others live alone and may have a propblem asking for this help.

Anything else?

Thank you to Quex ward staff for lookimg after me in a professional manner - I have only praise for you - keep it up.
