"what service???"

About: Riverside Medical Centre

(as the patient),

I'm a registered disabled person and I'm currently awaiting a transplant.

I feel that the booking system at my local GP surgery is a complete joke. I cannot predict if I'm going to feel unwell nor can anyone. The surgery currently states you must call at 8am to get an appointment on that day and by 8:01 all appointments are usually gone. Apparently you cannot book an appointment in advance and I do not feel I get the care or advice I'm needing for my medical condition. I

have to wait every 6 months until I go see my specailist in another city to complain about the lack of care I'm recieving in my home town.

Dear patient Thank you for your comments posted on the Patient Opinion website. Your feedback is very important to us and we appreciate people taking the time to do this. I am sorry to hear that your experience with booking appointments has been less than satisfactory. We do offer pre-bookable appointments to our patients and also on the day appointments from 8am. Unfortunately the practice is very busy and appointments do get taken very quickly from 8am. However, as an alternative we can also offer appointments at 2 other practices within City Health Care Partnership, (these are The Calvert Practice and Kingston Medical Centre) if patients are able and willing to travel to these practices, which are not too far away. The details for these two practices are as follows: The Calvert Practice The Calvert Centre Calvert Lane Hull HU4 6BH Tel: 01482 303882 www.calvertpractice.co.uk Kingston Medical Centre 151 Beverley Road Hull HU3 1TY Tel: 01482 344880 www.kingstonmedicalcentre.co.uk In addition, patients can now book their appointments online, via their registered practice website, which in your case is Riverside Medical Centre. To set this function up you need to register with the practice first and they will then set you up with log in details so that you can begin to use the online appointment service: www.riversidemedicalhull.co.uk/making-appointments.aspx If you require advice in relation to your medical condition we are also able to book telephone appointments for you and a doctor will ring you back to discuss this with you – this can be done by contacting the main switch board numbers for the practice. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you have been caused and hope that this information is useful to you but if I can be of any further assistance please contact me on victoria.wilton@chcphull.nhs.uk Vicky Wilton, Riverside Practice Manager
