I had to visit Urology as an outpatient on March 13th 2018. From start to finish we (I was accompanied by my wife) were treated with dignity and care by the doctor and his staff. I was apprehensive regarding a number of issues, particularly regarding the treatment I needed. Having done my own research, I was anxious that I would be offered what I believed to be the best sequence of treatment with the condition that I had. I need not have worried, the options were given to me without me needing to say a word, which I was so grateful for, as one doesn’t want to come across as attempting to tell an expert which treatment he should or should not offer! The doctor’s staff were smiling and courteous throughout, bearing in mind the particular treatment is not the most dignified of processes for the patient! We need to remember also that they are seeing many people each day with similar conditions, yet they are presumably just as kind to all those they see, which takes some doing.
I hope this review is seen by the doctor and his staff. We could not have been better treated had we been private patients. The NHS, and these people in particular, deserve to be lauded. The attitude and disposition that patients are met with is so important, as important as the treatment itself in my opinion. Please keep doing what you are doing!
