"One member of staff was rude, waited..."

About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

What I liked

When I went to A and E on chest pains they at first was very quick on giving me ECG and BP test.

What could be improved

More common sense and interaction with departments and each other. More information to the patient. Dont build them up telling them they are fine and then knock them down again saying they are not, if you are not really sure. Wait for all the results and then tell them, not play guessing games with patients lives. More space in A and E and communications needed. If patient or relative wants information don't leave them waiting in wonder for 4hours. Found one member of staff quite rude really. Asked what would happen to me and all I got from him was, I don't know, I am not psychic. Very uncaring. Dont speak to patients that are worried that way. Its disgusting. I wish I had of made a complaint now about this person. We are not slabs of meet, we are people OK. When you, the staff are on the table sick then maybe you will see it from the patients view.

Anything else?

But then when I went in to the actual A and E where the beds are I waited 4 hours, the other department lost my blood work so the doctor ended up doing it herself and checking it. I felt it was a shambles really. the doctor called me into a room to tell me all was ok and then he told me to wait there and forget about me, I came out and saw him at the PC, he said he thought I was sitting outside, I said, you told me to wait in here, as I went to hospital via train with chest pains not ambulance. After he told me all was fine I was about to leave and then he said I could not leave as they wasn't sure if I had a minor heart attack. So thus reassuring me all is ok and then knocking me back down to worry and fear again. I just sat on the bed for ages and my husband waited in the lobby part. Cause there is not much room there inside. Finally my results came back ok, but it seemed that again, right hand not knowing what left is doing.
