"Fantastic treatment from incredibly busy..."

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital / Accident and emergency

Was taken to A and E with breathing difficulties and had fantastic treatment starting with paramedics and ending with discharge prescriptions! Spent the whole time on a trolley in a corridor because there were no beds but sadly I think we are all becoming used to it being the norm. Heard a young man telling nurses over and over to eff off.

One patient had 'mislaid' his wife who had dementia and security were called to help find her and the nurses had to keep explaining to an elderly gentleman why he couldn't go home- over and over and over... So all of this extra stuff goes on before they even have to sort out people's illnesses. Nurses were unfailingly polite and efficient and very down to earth and genuine. I have the utmost respect for them doing a job that requires patience and endurance. A young ward assistant even managed to get me a couple of biscuits because I was hungry. Hats off to Harlow!
