"My Dad's time in The Edinburgh Royal Infirmary"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / General Surgery

(as a relative),

My Dad spent a couple of weeks last year in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.   He went in with a problem he had which the doctors thought was a blockage in his bowel.   Sadly, my Dad had gone though a lot over the years having recovered from cancer twice, dealing with a stoma bag and getting cancer again before this blockage started and he took ill.

In the end my Dad's body had just taken too much and his organs started to fail and he died.   My Dad was in Ward 106, Base A for his last few weeks.   I just wanted to say how amazing all of the staff were, not only did they look after him and gave him great treatment, they were also very friendly and understanding. They were very patient with my Dad even when he was delirious and when he was causing them a lot of work.

They were all amazing people and I couldn't have ask for anyone better to look after my Dad in his last few days.   I know he was treated well, with respect and great care.
