What I liked
I was admitted at 0430hrs on Monday 13th of June with sevdre abdominal pains, from the moment I arrived at A & E i was treated with concern and respect and quick pain relief. I was then eventually moved to a ward where again I was treated well and with kindness and respect.
I am aged 78 and some press comments say we are the group who are not treated well. Well
all I can say is that does not apply in your hospital. All the staff who attended me were efficient and friendly. I was moved a few times in my short stay ( I was allowed to leave p.m. on Wednesday. But I have to single out the staff of Purple ward where I spent most of the time. They
were without exception excellent.
I was also very impressed at the considerable efforts made to keep the area clean and tidy, with the cleaners taking great care with dusting and cleaning everywhere. The nurses too were meticulous in their hand cleaning after every task they carried out.
I was visiting the area on a short stay from my home in Hassocks just outside Brighton, but if I had to be taken ill anywhere I could not have picked a better spot than Watford.
The NHS often gets a bad press but in Watford Hospitals case it is certainly undeserved.
Many thanks to all who treated me during my stay I am very grateful indeed
What could be improved
Cannot immediately think of anything
"Very happy at my treatment and care"
