After waiting nearly 5 months I was seen in the orthopaedic clinic this morning by an exceptionally rude and unhelpful consultant. I was spoken down to in an extremely demeaning way including having fingers waved in my face like I was a naughty dog being told off by its owner. I was not allowed to express my opinions or to discuss my condition as I was frequently made to stop speaking by the consultant who had little to no people skills. My notes had failed to be read by this individual and as a result I was accused of my condition being “psychosomatic” even though I have been receiving treatment for the same condition in another department in the same hospital. I do not appreciate having the door left open to the consulting room during my appointment and view this as a breech of my confidentiality. Thankfully I do not have to return to see this consultant again. Further more , this consultants secretary/PA staff are exceptionally difficult to get hold of and you can wait up to a fortnight for anybody to get back to you regarding a simple enquiry. I would not recommend this service to anybody.
