"Poor service I feel like on a production line"

About: Munro Medical Centre

I have problems with my cholesterol and tryglicerides but this I found out just after I went private for test. Although I've asked to have one done I was told that blood test are done when it's something serious!!! ( how does anyone know if it's serous or not if they just talk to you??!!!)

I've been twice to Munroe and one time I was told that I look fine and should change coffee with tea and second time when I've been with my test results from private clinic the gp didn't even look at it saying that they are measuring different. The gp made me feel bad and guilty that I went to have my test privately and left the centre as I came just even more disappointed!!

Yesterday my wife went with our daughter because she has a rash on all her body ( on appearance is similar to chicken poks or scarlet fever) and she was given syrup which is for children over 12months although my daughter is 6 months!!!

All night our daughter cried and we feel bad as we couldn't do anything to comfort her, today I've rung again and they booked us with the same person which will probably say the same as yesterday that is "unknown virus" and send them home.

When I ring always I need to explain the receptionist my problems and most of the time I don't think they should know my personal problems!!! ( where is the confidentiality doctor-patient).

We wait to see what will happen after today's visit but at the moment we are seriously thinking in changing the surgery.

Dear Vas, thanks for leaving your feedback. Private clinics have a responsibility to follow up and advise on any abnormal results they find from the tests. Unfortunately, some don't - once they have charged you, they don't follow through on this responsibility, and leave it for us to sort out what to do. This we will try to do for you.

Viral rashes in young children are very common so it is not a great surprise that your daughter has had this. Some medicines are used for young children outside of their standard product license, when they are known to be safe and there are no other alternatives. This is a common, standard practice. This may explain the situation you describe, although if you are concerned we would encourage you to contact us directly about it.

The receptionist will ask you what your consultation is about to allow her to book you in with the most appropriate clinician for that problem. This makes it possible to provide you with an appointment without undue delay. Receptionists are covered by the same confidentiality rules that apply to all our staff.
