I am writing to say thank you to the fantastic staff in the ACAU Mobile Trolley Unit at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. I was sent as an urgent case to the Unit by my GP last month. Every member of staff was brilliant; I feel very fortunate to have benefitted from the wisdom, experience, and thoroughness of the doctors and staff nurses there. I have a great deal of confidence and reassurance in the care I received. It was clear that the staff were doing their very best indeed (in very busy and difficult circumstances). It really was care in all senses; there were other patients on the ward who were elderly, deaf, with complicated needs, worries beyond their illness – and the patience and kindness and consideration with which they were all dealt by the staff was remarkable. There were also tremendous staff in the CTU Unit, who again were patient and caring; and the porter who was pushing me around made sure to slow down over the bumps was great – little things like this, and the staff nurse who made me laugh; and the big things like the resources that were made available and the quality of the care overall – are fantastic. Thank you all.
"Outstanding care"
