"outstanding Care that my Mum had By All Involved"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Vale of Leven General Hospital

(as a relative),

I am writing this on behalf of my mum in relation to the Care given after a fall she had.

On contacting NHS 24 as my Mum was in Severe Pain, I could not fault the service who gave my mum the most up to date advice and advised that an ambulance was needed. Our thanks go to the call handlers and nurse for there help.

On the ambulance arrival which was about 20min after speaking with NHS 24 two Paramedics Male and Female came to check my Mum over although she didnt need to go to hospital.

As my mum's pain was getting worse i instead took my mum by Taxi to the Vale of Leven Hospital Minor Injuries were she was seen by a very pleasant and caring nurse after being examined it was necessary to transfer my mum to the RAH in Paisley  by Ambulance as she had a dislocated shoulder i just wanted to say that the care given to my mum at the Vale of Leven Hospital was excellent but was puzzled why the first Paramedics didnt pick this up when they first came out.

My mum was then taken to the RAH by two lovely male Paramedics who treated my mum with Dignity and respect and advised me what would happen when we arrived at A & E .

I just want to say thank you on behalf of my mum for the outstanding care she received from NHS 24 Scottish Ambulance Service Nurse at the Minor Injuries at VOL and all the A & E Nurses and Doctors who cared for my mum during her time at A & E Resus at the RAH .

Dear waterloo

Thank you for your kind words about the staff who cared for your mother after her recent accident. It must have been a very worrying time for both of you. I will ensure the staff involved in your mums care from the Vale and the RAH ED receive a copy of your comments.

I hope that your mum has a speedy recovery

Best wishes

Dear Waterloo

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I was sorry to learn your mother suffered a dislocated shoulder. I appreciate that this can be extremely painful and I do wish her well.

It was good of you to take the time to thank the staff members involved in your mum's care. I am especially pleased that you have mentioned the NHS 24 staff who managed your call to our service. NHS 24 plays a hugely important role in the overall journey of a patient, so it is good for our staff to be included in any positive feedback. Should you wish to contact me directly to provide additional detail, then I would be able to identify the staff and share your story with them. I can be contacted at patientaffairs@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk or by telephone on 0141 337 4597. I will however share your story more widely within NHS 24.

Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch.

With kind regards

Shona
