"Lack of explanation in A&E"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as other),

My partner went into Musgrove because she had real bad pains around the lungs.

Staff didn't explain anything, they talked among themselves. They did an ecg and didn't let her know what the ecg said. The drip was finished and they didn't keep an eye on it.

Just before the handover they said they are going to give antibiotics to take home and then we could leave. A hour after the handover we had to wait for someone to give us the prescription and let us go.

Felt very uncomfortable, my partner felt she was worth nothing. They gave me two tablets which they didn't explain what they were. I felt sick they were meant to get me antisickness tablets and never did, so I ended up being sick.

Dear Mcon

I'm sorry you felt this way.

Could you please contact myself or Karen in the department or the PALS team as without your details we cannot look into this. We would like to try to find out why this happened. If you ring the hospital number and ask for either of us, or the PALS team and they will forward us the details.

I hope we can resolve this for you.

Kind regards

Louise Hill
