What I liked
Phlebotomy is good at APH.
What could be improved
The diabetic clinic is awful - no consultation between professionals whatsoever. Even in a strict emergency it is very difficult to get in touch with anybody from the department - they are either very understaffed or very disorganised.
Cannot make an appointment at clinic or with consultant without going through a specialist nurse - but cannot get hold of a specialist nurse for love nor money!
Anything else?
I have recently moved from Scotland, where the diabetic care in my local hospital was much better. My colleague tells me that the department at APH used to be brilliant, but I feel sorry for new diabetics who must feel lost with this department for guidance.
"AVOID!!"
