What I liked

The care while I was pregnant was brilliant and the midwife's in the ante-natal day unit were brilliant.

What could be improved

When my baby was born she was blue, cold, had problems breathing (was grunting) and had discoloured fluid bubbling from her mouth. The midwife who delivered her still gave her an Apgar score of 9 (out of 10). Even after us repeatedly saying that there was something wrong with the baby she ignored us and then after a while couldn't actually be found on the ward. After a couple of hours we managed to get another midwife to look at our baby.She was immediately admitted to the neonatal unit and put into an incubator with oxygen. She stayed in the neonatal unit for over a week. Our babies health should have been better assessed at birth.
