"Management of AF"

I recently requested an urgent appointment due to a sudden onset of fast (and frightening) heart arrhythmia.

I was given a same day appointment with a GP Registrar, who took a full history, conducted an ECG and talked me through his findings and the implications for me.

This doctor had an excellent patient manner and inspired confidence.

My first appointment took considerably longer than the allotted time, but at no time did I feel this was an issue. I was grateful for that time.

I have been given appropriate follow up and monitoring and would not hesitate to recommend this young doctor to any practice he wished to join on completion of his training.

I might add I was followed up with his GP Trainer present on one occasion.

I am aware of the tremendous pressures on GP practices, but my practice appears to be working very hard to meet demands and patient needs.
