"My experience of Tameside"

About: Tameside General Hospital

(as the patient),

My story would have to cover from feb 2011, so here’s the short version, covering wards A6 and 31.

The staff - 95% of the staff are brilliant, caring and concerned. They’re pleasant and nothing is too much for them.

The food - Varies in quality from excellent to “I’ve had a mouthful and that’s enough”. The salads could be sold at a high prices restaurant and be sold for a high price. They are literally excellent. The puddings were always brilliant.

The management - Who?!

The cleanliness - Very good

Thanks for these comments. Not sure what you mean by ward A6 – we don’t have a ward with that name. However, I am pleased that you found most of the other staff at Tameside Hospital brilliant, caring and concerned.

I am really pleased you like the salads – I have to say that is the first comment we have ever received, and I would suspect the best comment we will ever receive about them. I am glad you liked the puddings too and will ensure the catering manager is aware of your comments, as well as ward 31. The cleaning staff will be pleased to know their efforts were appreciated.

The management – Who? – well me for one!

Thanks again

Best wishes

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved?

Please contact Philip Dylak, Director of Nursing at philip.dylak@tgh.nhs.uk
