About: Stepping Hill Hospital

Couldn’t be better except I was called in for an operation, bowel cancer, some confusion on checking in, prepared for surgery overnight and then told no high dependency bed, as a result following a lot of pain and an A &E visit the foloowing week was now an emergency.

It is always difficult decision to cancel an operation where a patient needs a HDU bed and there are none available. Thank you for recognising the staff at such a worrying time. I hope you have now had your surgery and are recovering well.
