I saw my GP in the middle of march regarding an infection on one of my ears. was referred to Mount Gould hospital,Plymouth, when I saw a doctor I was told the infection was a form of cancer and I would have to go to Derriford hospital for treatment. In may I attended outpatients dept at Derriford and was told that a further appt. would be made and the affected part of my ear removed. I have not yet received an appt.
The journey to and from my home to Derriford takes about 3/4 hours I am the sole carer for my sick 90 year old wife! I have travelled to my local surgery seen three doctors yet no progress has been made. I think it is a waste of my time and that of hospital staff that this system exists. Is it just to build up waiting lists? I am baffled.
