About: University College Hospital

What I liked

I appreciated the little details of thoughtful nursing care provided by the ward staff; comfort and respect were important, as well - of course - as good medical care. It was nice that my medications were all dispensed well before the time of my discharge. Admin procedures all went smoothly.

What could be improved

On a previous visit, I was introduced by the surgeon to all members of the team in the operating theatre; this was reassuring. It didn't happen this time. I hardly met the (principal) surgeon, and so had no reason to feel confidence in him. I would have liked the surgeon's registrar to have spent a further 60 seconds with me post-op to explain more precisely the procedures and their likely consequences.

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your positive experiences of University College London Hospital. I'm sorry to hear that the surgeon nor the registrar did not take the time to explain the procedure you were having more thoroughly. If you would like to discuss this with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) please do not hesitate to contact them on 020 7380 9975 or pals@uclh.nhs.uk.
