"Surgery to remove lymph nodes"

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Surgery (Wards 4 & 7)

(as the patient),

I recently went to Monklands hospital to have some lymph nodes removed from my neck. Mr Smillie the surgeon and the nurses and all of the team were all so lovely, all of the care that I got was first class. Mr Smillie is such a kind and caring person. I was also impressed with all the people before and after the surgery. I saw two Doctor Clarks before my surgery, (one male one female) and they were both lovely too. All the staff have been so kind. The NHS gets such a rotten time at the moment I wanted to say thank you for doing their job and doing it well because they have to work when it's so busy. My family were also very impressed.

The only little thing that has nothing to do with care is just that Monklands could do with a lick of paint as it is looking a little shabby but everything else has being amazing.

Dear snowkw58

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about the first class care you received from Mr Smillie and the team when you were in having your lymph nodes removed. I am glad that the team were able to make this a good experience for you and hope that you are making a good recovery.

I will pass your comments on to Mr Smillie and the staff involved in your care and am certain that they will be pleased to receive such lovely feedback.

With regard to the fabric of the building, I can appreciate that some areas look a bit run down given the age of our building. Please be assured that we have an ongoing programme of work to upgrade and paint the building and a larger project underway called the Monklands Replacement and Refurbishment Programme, planning for the future.

With best wishes

Lynn McTavish
