"I feel I was failed"

About: Inclusion Recovery Hampshire / Winchester

(as a service user),

On the whole the service has been very positive. However, one major criticism would be I needed counselling and this was not given until I had been involved in the service for several weeks around 3 months. While I appreciate you have protocols policies and engagement in services must be a factor, I was in crisis and this should have been given straight away. This was an emergency mental health issue and I feel I was failed. Your MDT should have considered this, If I failed to engage then not provide the care. Holistically, you met my need for help with drinking too much but this should have been done in tandem with counselling. My keyworker was amazing, I will not fault them or the reception staff who were excellent but this has to change.

Dear castorby83 thank you for your feedback on our service, it is always heartening to read such nice feedback about our staff. I am also pleased to read that you felt the service has been a very positive experience. I would like to apologies that you felt that the counselling aspect was not as accessible as you would have liked there are many considerations that are taken into account when offering interventions if you would like to discuss this further please feel free to ask your recovery worker to a arrange meet with me and I can review your case.
