My Mum was unexpectedly admitted to PRI in February 2018 with a severe exacerbation of her asthma. She was acutely unwell but the care and attention she received was exceptional. From the nurse, Rebecca, who triaged her and recognised she was unwell very quickly, to the junior doctor in ED, Eilidh, who was kind and considerate and put Mum at ease. She was then admitted to Ward 4 at PRI where she remained for 5 days under the dedicated care of Dr Brown - he filled Mum and the whole family with confidence despite her difficult to treat symptoms. The nursing staff, although extremely busy, were very kind and caring to Mum especially when she was finding her breathing difficult and feeling very anxious. This care was continued in Ward 3 by the extended team there.
I can not thank the whole team enough for the exceptional care and expertise given to Mum during her recent stay - from the Consultant team and Trainee Doctors to the Nurses and Healthcare Assistants and also not to forget the essential Domestics, Caterers and Porters - all have their role to play in making the system work and ensuring patients are kept safe. I am thankful of the amazing team at PRI, NHS Tayside and proud of our wonderful NHS. Thank you.
