"Lack of information and too long between G.P and consultant's appointment"

About: Devon Access and Referral Team (DART)

(as the patient),

Went to my GP in May. Sent to DART. Had reply from DART four days later.

I phoned DART the day I got their reply to say which hospital was best for me. Exeter was selected (thinking it would be within the following week) because i am off sick. Well it is now the end of the week, the post has been and still no appointment with a consultant. This might not seem a long time to the people sorting the appointment but for myself the wait seems a life time. It is bank holiday weekend which means no news until at least tue so anxious wait ahead.

Dear ‘Tilly Trotter’,

Thank you for getting in touch and I’m sorry that you are unhappy with the waiting time for your appointment.

Unfortunately, without more details about you I am unable to look up your referral and so cannot give you any specific information about your potential waiting time. If you would like to call me on 01626 883888 I would be more than happy to look up your details and get you some more information – I work from 9 until 5.

Kind regards,

Susan
