"Triage system"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Out-of-hours GP service

(as a service user),

I sat for 3 hours next to a baby with a nose tube - while 2 men who came in complaining about their coughs were seen within 1 hour.

It’s clear to me from observation that this is driven by their target system. I think that if they simply ran an estimated appointment service like other Health Boards it could be easily managed.

Dear Concerned 3rd Party

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion.

Without knowing some of the details it is difficult to comment specifically on the reasons on why some patients may have waited longer than others. I completely understand that this can be frustrating for other patients who are waiting, especially when it’s a child.

Please be assured that I will pass on your concerns to the General Manager for the Service.

Kind Regards

Nicole
