I went in twice to Lincoln County Hospital in one week! The first time I went in I actually had no problems, the out of hours GP informed me that my suspicions of Food Poisoning was correct. All was fine until the next time when I lost all feeling in my body.
The following night came and we had to get a non emergency paramedic out to assess me as I literally couldn't walk - I was in agony.
Early hours of the next morning came and by 1:30am I was back in Lincoln County again. I had a cannula put in with a fluids drip and also had a paracetamol drip. This is where it goes downhill...
My partner was with me on both occasions, he asked for stronger painkillers and I had to wait 2hrs before I even got anything, stronger painkillers apparently means the same as I had - Paracetamol. So I was sat in an uncomfy chair for hours on end with the wrong type of pain killer again like I said, in agony.
When I eventually got a bed, I was only on it for about 40/45 minutes before a Dr came in, yanked my legs around like I was a rag doll and said I was "fine to go home". The whole time they were doing this I was wincing in pain. However, this isn't where this treatment ended. We had to ask for a wheelchair so I could actually go back in the waiting room and wait to get home. The nurse that asked how we was getting home was no help at all with taxis or anything else, they also seemed reluctant to get a wheelchair as I'd been (wrongly) discharged.
We all together was in that hospital for 18hrs. With NO help from the hospital, we got home due to a lovely couple whom were visiting due to a fracture.
To top this all off, I went to my local hospital (grimsby, princess diana of wales) and they in 2hrs did what Lincoln couldn't do in 18hrs, diagnose me, give me a prescription and sort out my problem. I have sciatica. I have to now take 3 painkillers and need physiotherapy and possibly an MRI scan if it doesn't clear up in a couple of weeks.
I'm disgusted that Lincoln failed with basic patient care and responsibility.
I would much rather travel an hour to another hospital (like grimsby) to get the care I needed.
"Wrongly discharged"
