My doctor was concerned in November when one of my glands in my neck would not go down following a bad bout of flu and 2 lots of very strong antibiotics and referred me to ENT. I was seen within 7 working days, had a camera put up my nose and down my throat and then referred for a biopsy and CT scan, which happened within 7 working days. I then had another appointment with the consultant within 5 days and due to the results being inconclusive was booked in for a core biopsy and given an appointment within 5 days. The results, which were good fortunately, were then posted to me followed by an appointment within 7 weeks. This took Christmas into account as well. Following my appointment end Feb I have been told I am to have an operation to remove the benign lump in my neck and this will be done within 6 weeks and will be carried out as day surgery in the Jubilee.
I have had previous surgeries in the Jubilee, for carpel tunnel, tennis elbow and radial nerve and had wonderful treatment, so I have no qualms about this surgery to come.
I cannot thank the staff and treatment at the Countess of Chester enough. Brilliant and hard working, caring and committed.
"Fast track to 'good' diagnosis."
