"No-one else spoke to me after that"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Couldn’t fault Jane and I think it was Laura (student midwife) at the Women's health unit. Settled us in, reassured us. Spoke to us as individuals.

They went off duty prior to my discharge and no-one else spoke to me after that. I don’t even know the name of the member of staff that took over. I had to find her to ask if I could leave.

No aftercare discussed and no sick note provided – let’s see if it does actually get posted out.

Thank you for submitting your comments about our services. Firstly I would like to extend apologies that you were unable to obtain information on your aftercare whilst you were on the Women’s Health Unit and that you felt some of the staff to be uncommunicative.

I would like to assure you that the Trust is extremely proactive in promoting ways to improve communication for patients and I am sorry this was not your experience.

We will continue to make improvements.
