"Useless"

About: Park Medical Centre

I have had this rash for four months, I have seen 5 (if not more) doctors over 10+ appointments (having to take time off work) I have been fobbed off with different creams and tablets that haven't worked (which have cost me an absolute fortune) The doctors barely pay any interest or attention and are very unhelpful. Finally I have been referred to a dermatologist but I've been advised of a minimum of 17 week wait. According to the practice secretary all hospitals will be the same and if they put a urgent referral though, that would take a minimum of 2 months. This leaves me no option to go private. Not only am I paying for the NHS through my taxes, they are unable,to provide me with efficient treatment I am having to pay to go private! The practice secretary told ,e to out a complaint in, like that will solve my problem? I have never once had any information emailed to me or a helpful phone call, I have had to make ridiculous amount of phone calls to get any answers.

I had an ear infection one time and the doctor asked me what I thought it was and if I had looked it up on google!

Another time I sat in the pharmacy for at least 45 minutes while an asylum seeker tried to get free prescriptions, which they are 'entitled' to.

Also it has took my boyfriend a week to get an appointment. Day 1, he was advised a doctor would call him back, he received no call so at 4pm he called back only to be told that the doctor who was supposed to call him had gone home at 2pm! They said he would receive a call before 6pm, they never did. He finally got an appointment and all they said was give it two months to see if you feel better!

The receptionists think they're qualified doctors, they are rude on the phone (when you get through)

This place is a joke, if you have the option of an alternatve surgery I would highly recommend avoiding park road! Before this surgery I was at Parson Drove Surgery and not once did I have a problem and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Dear Patient,

I am sorry that you are not happy with the service the practice has provided to date.

We did discuss your concerns at our recent clinical meetings.

The GPs advised that initially, they will try creams & tablets to see if the symptoms ease before they consider a referral to dermatology.

I am afraid that an outpatient’s appointment can take some time and the practice has little control over this.

The secretary was quite right in advising you to raise your concern with the hospital directly.

At the discussion the GPs suggested that maybe an image of the rash can be taken and sent to the dermatology department to request ‘Advice and Guidance’

Although the practice cannot guarantee this will reduce the length of time you may have to wait to be seen but it is an option that you may wish to consider.

If you wish to discuss anything further then please do not hesitate to contact the surgery.

Thank you.
