I arrived in A&E on Sunday with a suspected broken jaw. I was really nervous about everything, especially when I was told I was to stay overnight and have to have surgery. I was calmed and all my worries were put to bed by such beautiful attitudes and calming qualities that each and every member of staff I encountered possessed.
When I was eventually taken up to the ward - where I would await my surgery - the nurses were unbelievably kind and considerate. They were highly efficient but on such a personal level. There were lots of people with queries, questions and requests but not once did any lose patience or falter in being the caring and benevolent people that they truly are - regardless of the time of day or how far into their shift they were.
I had to wait until Tuesday to receive surgery, however waiting was of no concern to me whatsoever due to the sheer loveliness of all the staff; even the cleaners emitted an air of kindness. When it came to the surgery itself, I was again greeted in the same nurturing manner as I had throughout my stay. I was calmly taken through the procedures of the surgery and made to feel so relaxed and that was before the anaesthetic! The surgery was obviously a success and when I awoke everything was again excellent. To summarise, I could not have wished for a better experience and I have utmost respect and admiration for every single individual at the hospital. I cannot thank you all enough.
I was staying on Lynher Ward and I would like to mention three staff members as they are the only names I happen to remember but I would name everybody if I could.
Again, thank you!
"Endless thank yous"
